Charlyne Yi
I saw the movie Paper Heart the other day and while it was okay in a cute sort of way, I was really impressed with the songs Charlyne Yi wrote during the movie. In addition to the songs from the movie, there are also a bunch of live songs in the special features which are great and funny as well. There is an official version of the Soundtrack which has the studio version of the song she sings in the movie but I prefer the stripped down performance. It also turns out that Charlyne and Michael Cera wrote most the of the soundtrack (which is quite good) using a great cast of guests like Zach Condon from Beirut. It’s mostly instrumentals but worth checking out. I know that Charlyne plays in a band called Old Lumps but the live songs didn’t have titles so I’m pretty much in the dark with those unless anyone wants to chime in. I apologize to Charlyne for getting the names wrong.
