Warpaint

I like them because they have no regard for song structure. I like them because they splice in different songs whenever they like. I like them because they are a little bit tough and a little bit gritty. I like them because they simultaneously harmonize beautiful melodies (which I’m way into right now). I’m sort of smitten with these Los Angeles girls right now and I may have listened that ‘Beetles’ song like 20 times in a row. It reminds me of ESG big time and even though they have been called Chan Marshall’s little sisters (which may be the biggest back-handed compliment I have ever heard), I think they are well on their way to carving out a good place for themselves.

    And there’s definitely something about Warpaint. Beautiful. The type of beauty that is hard to put into words, though you did pretty well.
