Gorillaz
The new Gorillaz album is a bit disappointing in a bland way. I listened to it a bunch of times because I wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing something, but it just feels slightly boring. The only saving grace is the lead-out track with Snoop Dogg rapping like Lil’ Wayne and the beat slinking along like a snake. Come to think of it, why didn’t they get Wayne to do it? Oh right.. he’s been in court. The Lou Reed track is interesting too but for more of a rubbernecker attraction and the Bobby Womack cover is proof that Cee-Lo’s voice has always been a throw-back. Umm. I guess that’s about it.

I was disappointed at first. I love the intro immediately into it.
I gave it another listen to with some friends while in Central Park the other day and it just felt right. I couldn’t get into it while listening to it on headphones though.

First I thought weird! And now I love it.
Some kind of nature my favorite! Lou Reed voice is still so captivating..
And Little Dragon does a really pleasant performance..

First heard this the other day. I thought most of the album was fairly decent. Whether with The Killers, The Gorillaz, or by himself, Lou Reed is at all times awesome.

Understanding The Gorillaz bass sound, Junior Dan worked with Reggae giants Burning Spear and my all time fave Augustus Pablo. So went searching for Pablo and behold, what do I find but an awesome shot of the great man himself in of all places Ladbroke Grove, London 89′. pogus Caesar get’s it right. [----]
