October Make Ups

Maybe it’s time we got ourselves an intern or something since every time something big comes up (like a new apartment!), I manage to get myself way behind. New albums are only new for so long and these days it seems to be a shorter and shorter amount of time. Anyways, please accept my apologies and all the bands that I meant to post in September and October.

Blonde Redhead – Penny Sparkle

New album sounds much akin to Bat For Lashes and that’s a very good thing. Took a while to get used to, but ended up being in heavy rotation with extra points added for constantly trying new things.

Blonde Redhead – Here Sometimes
Blonde Redhead – Not Getting There

Tokyo Police Club – Champ
Disposable indie-pop from the band whose records I always buy but never play in public. Tons of fun and tons of energy on each new release. I just wish the vocals didn’t sounds like Blink-182.

Tokyo Police Club – Big Difference
Tokyo Police Club – Not Sick

No Age – Everything In Between

Their full-length releases have more of a “feeling” to them then they have cohesiveness, but that feeling is one of hot summer nights on dirty city blocks and they never cease to envelop everything in their distortion-drenched guitar chords which tells cohesiveness to go fuck itself.

No Age – Glitter
No Age – Dusted
