Onra

Not content with France being known for techno wizards like Daft Punk and Justice, this young beatsmith had to take things to outer stratosphere.  The jazzy, funky hip-hop is familiar and bizarre at the same time.  The Dilla bounce influence is strong, but Onra has a space-age hip-hop style all his own.  80′s synthesizers blend seamlessly with funky breaks and Pete Rock bangers.  You may recognize a sample here and there, but his beat chopping is the truest argument for anti-sample laws I’ve ever heard.
