Kid Cudi
The new Kid Cudi album drop in a couple of weeks but apparently I’m less resourceful than I thought I was because I couldn’t find a leak to save my life. Needless to say it promises to be pretty exciting and you should check it out if you see it around. In the meantime, you can feast on some mixtape tracks that have been circulating for a minute. Last time I got this hyped about a hip hop album was Lupe Fiasco and that shit sort of fell flat. Something about his Pharrell-like, self styled skater persona made him seem a bit clownish. I have high hopes for Cudi though (Jim Jones guest spots eliminate all clownish activity) and based on his mixtape I don’t think I’ll be disappointed. Did you listen to that 88 Keys beat? Holy shit… it’s bananas. He also busts out with the ever popular rhyming over indie rock on the track ‘Can I be’ (in this instance LCD Soundsystem). You can download the whole mix tape here.
