Jay-Z

Yikes.. the new Jay-Z album is pretty hot. I’m not sure what else I expected since he’s always pretty solid, but this time around he manages to keep everything fresher than normal. This is mostly due to his inventiveness and the ability to push the envelope when it comes to picking beats. Some of the tracks might make you scratch your head at first and give you impulse to skip to the next song.. but give it a minute. Eventually you’ll notice that it’s actually on some next-level shit and you’ll realize that instead of doing what’s he always done and playing it safe, Jay is just trying to take it further. Like he says halfway through the album “Niggas want my old shit, buy my old album”. That’s basically the theme here, with the dropping of this new album he’s challenging everyone else to keep up. Of course there are also some classic bangers like the single ‘D.O.A. (Death Of Auto-Tune)’ which features one of the dirtiest No I.D. beats I’ve heard in a minute. However passionate the pleas may be though, he seems to have a real hard time letting go of Auto-Tune throughout the rest of the album. Maybe that’s telling of some other things as well. The greatest men have always been self-contradictions.

you’re a mess. you can’t post 5 leaked tracks off an album. That’s just too far.

Yeah, I think you’re right. I sort of figured that his album is everywhere by now since it was leaked so long ago but you’ve got a good point. I shortened it down to three which is the number I try and stay at for leaks. I’ll try and keep a modecom of decorum around here.
