After close to seven years, we have decided to call it quits. It’s been really fun hanging out here and listening to so many great jams, but we all want to go focus on other projects for awhile. Thanks to all the bands who let us post up their music and took the time to write us letters – that was super nice of you. Sometimes we said some mean stuff about certain records, but just remember that it’s only the internet which we all know is entirely irrelevant. You can keep an eye on Johnny and Mark doing their other gigs and you can find everyone else over at Unpiano Books. See you soon…

Rest easy buddy. You were a really good guy and no matter how many times we write a post like this, it never gets any easier. From Art Museums to Whysp and The Lowdown, you had so much to share that it was an honor to have been able to experience some of it. I bet you were a real good librarian too.

Mark made a great Art Museums post a few years back if you want more.

Roc Raida

//photo by bobbito garcia – RIP Grandmaster Roc Raida

I just read the other day that Roc Raida passed away last September which is sad for any number of reasons. I can’t believe no one told me.. that was like six months ago! I guess it makes sense.. I mean why the fuck would I know that anyways. But still.. He was one of my favorite djs when I was growing up and I had all of his DMC video appearances right on top of my VCR. for a real long time. I also remember wearing the hell out of this one old school mix of his in 1996. It had pretty much every old gem there was (as his record collection ran pretty deep) and I remember trying to to match his routines in my room for hours. I finally found a rip of the tape (mine was totally done for) and got to re-listen. I think side b wins, but that’s for you to decide. And please be careful when you practice martial arts.
